Last week the association spoke to the poor quality of broadcasts of current council meetings which, coupled with slapdash administrative arrangements, make it all but impossible for residents & ratepayers to follow proceedings.

With the above in-mind, the association believes that it is time for council to resume its previous meeting arrangements in the shire’s $10M “Palace of Dreams”, thereby helping to restore meaningful access for residents & ratepayers to the functions & activities of those who claim to represent them.

According to Circular 20-28 published by the Office of Local Government (OLG) on July 3rd, 2020, there are now no reasons why the holding of such meetings cannot be reinstated, subject to a 4 square metre space requirement being met for each member of the public attending the meetings.
